With a stunning view over the Atlantic Ocean, located in the touristic village of Sesimbra, this family holiday apartment – designed by a renowned architect in the 70’s – was refurbished with the aim to turn it into a brighter, more functional and spacious house.
The dark wood, a dated trend that was used throughout the apartment, was replaced by lighter colours and materials allowing natural day light coming into the space, turning it brighter. The balcony was enhanced. The changes made to the living and dining areas harmonised the space with the sun rays and the sea waves of that region.
Maximising the bedrooms and creating an accessible bathroom was essential to allow all the family members to feel comfortable while staying at the house during summer holidays.
